I ran cross this meme last month about putting together care packages for homeless women. I thought it was a great idea. So I asked my family to bring toiletries and female hygiene items to dinner on thanksgiving. We packaged these purses and cosmetics bags full with products for females.
I’m happy to say we put together over 25 packages and put them in our cars to hand out when we see someone in need.
Y’all remember making salt dough ornaments as kid at school or in Sunday school. Well that’s the DIY of the day. I made some salt dough gingerbread ornaments for the christmas tree. If you never got a chance to make these at a kid or have forgotten how, I’m going to show you:
You’ll need: Flour, Salt, Water, Coco Powder, Gingerbread Cookie Cutter, and a baking sheet.
Mix 1 cup go salt and 1 cup of flour with 1/2 cup water. Mix together until the dough is form
Fun fact: You can add 1/2 cup of coco powder to the mix to make the dough brown for gingerbread men.
Use a glass cup to roll the dough flat and use the cookie cutter to cut of the gingerbread shape, or any other shape you would like. Lay them on a cookie sheet. Be sure to use a straw to make a hold at the top of your ornament for hanging.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and back for 1 hour. Cool for 1 hour or until complete dry.
Paint them to decorate them as you like and thread string through the hanging holes. then, decorate your tree.
This is a good project to do with your family for family night. Plan it and let me know how it goes.

S, this week is going to be interesting. I have to really focus on what needs to get done. Wish my luck and I wish you all a good week.
The holiday season is a great time to watch amazingly corny movies to get you in the holiday spirit. I can’t even flex I’ve been watching Netflix movies almost every night. A few of them I’ve watched several times. When I like a movie I will watch it over and over and over again. Most people get tired of the same movie but I never get tired of a good movie. I’m that girl that will go to the movies to see the same movie like 3 to 5 times before it leaves the theater. Actually, my 1st job was at the movie theater in high school. BEST TEENAGE JOB EVER. I promise I saw the Twilight series movies everyday when they released. I can watch a movie for the 100th time like its my 1st time watching it.
Okay, so this month I have watched and re watched all of my classics like This Christmas (starring Chris Brown), Home Alone 1 +2, Best Man Holiday, and Almost Christmas.
Some of my new Netflix Holiday favorites this year are:
This is the time of year for the best sweet treats. I love me some sweet potato pie and red velvet cake, not the store bought kind but straight from my grandma’s kitchen. My personal favorite treat to make for the holidays is Christmas Muddy Buddies. It’s super easy to make…
Christmas Muddy Buddy Receipt
3/4 cups of Creamy Peanut Butter
2 cups of Powdered Sugar
1 box Rice Chex
1 Family size bag of m&m’s
2 cups of chocolate chips
You want to start off my melting the chocolate chips. Add the peanut butter in with the melted peanut butter. Stir until its well mixed together. Then, mix with Chex cereal in a large bowl. You want to make sure the cereal is completely covered. Using a Ziplock bag, shake powdered sugar and coated cereal together until cereal is completely covered. Pour into a serving bowl and add m&m’s as toppings. Enjoy!
A few weeks ago, my friends and I got together to celebrate one of our dear friends birthday and party with a purpose. The birthday guy requested we all bring items to make blessings in a bag. This was such a great idea and it warmed my heart. My friends are truly amazing!
We gathered most of the basic essentials …. likes bottled waters, cereal bars, fruit snacks, socks, tissues, toilets, over the counter medicine, and first aid items for the blessing bags.
As we partied and mingled, we also each made a blessing bag to put in our cars to bless a person in need.
So, I road around for at least 2 weeks with my blessing bag in my car. I honestly almost forgot about it. It wasn’t until I was at a red light on my way home and saw a man standing in the cold holding a cardboard sign. My first thought was, “It’s cold outside! Do I have a blanket in my truck to give him to keep warm?” Of course, I didn’t. But it dawned on me that I had the blessing bag I made with my friends at the Party with a Purpose kickback. I reached behind my seat and pulled the blessing bag from the pocket behind my seat and rolled down my window to give the man the bag. He smiled at me and said, “Thank you! God bless you.” In that moment my heart was full and I wished I had more to offer him in that moment. It was then I realized how important it is to keep things like blessing bags handy. You never know when you might come across someone in need and want to help them. This motivated me to start keeping blessing bags in my car for the next time I come across someone in need.
Blessing bags are easy to make and has the potential to make a huge difference to someone in need. Please be prepare to lend a helping hand at every moment possible, you never know when if could be you that needs the help from another stranger.
I love everything about holiday traditions. As much as I love these traditions, I don’t get to do them all every year. I cherish every year I get to spend with my loved ones and plans these little family traditions. Here is some of favorite holiday traditions !
I haven’t taken pictures with Santa in years, but I do like to get there family together for a quick photoshoot during the holidays. It gets challenging combining everyone schedule to meet up and have everyone present. Somehow, we manage to get it done.
Making new ornaments
I am a DIY girl. I love crafts and making things. Every year I try to add new ornaments to my collection.I’ll buy the signature hallmark collector of the year and find a cool DIY ornament or decoration to make.
Decorating Gingerbread Houses
This is a new tradition that I started doing with my family just 2 years ago. Before then I had never made a gingerbread house. Now you can purchase the kits in just about any store. Our family gets together christmas eve evening to fellowship, exchange gifts and make gingerbread houses.
Christmas PJs -Family set
I can never get anyone to do matching christmas pjs sets with me. Every year I see all the cute family sets in Target and think to try to get either my family to participate in my fashion madness on christmas eve or my girlfriends to participate during out holiday gatherings…. but the answer is always NO! But, I will keep trying every year.
Today is Day 1 of BLOGMAS, and this year I have a lot in store to share. Look forward to a post every throughout December at 8PM. Last year, I only did weekly blogmas posts. So daily blogging is new for mew. Bare with me please!
As you getting older Christmas changes. I remember being a kid wanting to make cookies for santa. Although, I’m not “playing” santa yet. Christmas day has changed for me. Now I’m more excited for the time spent with my family and time off work to relax rather than all the gifts under the tree with my name on it.
I look forward to making gingerbread houses with my family on Christmas Eve and playing Dirty Santa. I am preparing now for all the food I’m going to inhale. I’m so ready to dive into a fresh cut slice of red velvet cake.
My christmas wish is for more peace, love and joy in the world. I always want to promote a peaceful spirit, spread love not war and bring joy to others heart. As much as I practice spreading peace, love and joy I want to receive it too.
So what else does a 20-something young adult want for Christmas, besides bill money:
